Ugh. It’s… yeah, you’re right. It really rubs me the wrong way too. It’s not only really judgmental, but extremely ill-informed. For one, women who choose cesareans or epidurals or hospital births aren’t “lazy”, and there are very serious documented risks to epidural anesthesia that is not just “anecdotal”. What the fuck? She tries to come off as impartial but instead comes off as, “why bother with all that fancy stuff?” and plays into the mythos that those who choose homebirth do it for the ~*experience*~, like it’s a spa getaway or some shit. Ugh. Jezebel as a site does not sit well with me, they fuck up way too often.
