Think I'd like it?

staringatthesky11 asked: I don't know if you've heard of Kathy Hoopmann's books, but that was how my son first learned about his Aspergers. We gave him The Blue Bottle Mystery and Of Mice and Aliens and he actually identified enough with the main character that he came and asked me if I thought maybe he had Aspergers like the boy in the book. It's a good story, and while I wasn't actually expecting him to have the level of self awareness to recognise himself in the story I knew other parents had used it as a way to

(sorry, ran out of space- concise I’m not!) introduce the topic and give it a framework for discussion between them and their children. Especially with siblings it can be easier and less confronting to discuss the fictional character’s Aspie traits. Anyway, you’d might have heard of them but if not I thought it might be something you could look at for Tempest and Xan to read.

I haven’t heard of those, but I will look them up. :) Thanks!
