Sort of. She knows that she takes her medication because it helps some of her behavior, and she knows that she often can’t control the way she acts and doesn’t understand how to interact with other people… but the times I’ve tried to explain that is part of something called Aspergers she tends to glaze over.
I hold them to the same standards of behavior. No one is allowed to be violent, to spit or kick or steal things or whatnot… regardless of any underlying problems those behaviors are still not okay things to do.
